Haryana to include five castes in list of nomadic & semi-nomadic tribes

Chandigarh, Jun 25 (UNI) Haryana government has decided to include Jogi, Jangam, Jogi Nath, Maniar, Bhat, Rahabari and Madari (Hindu) in the list of Nomadic and Semi-Nomadic Tribes in the state.
A decision to this effect was taken in a Cabinet meeting held under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar here on Tuesday.
Certain synonyms were added in the list of Denotified, Nomadic and Semi-Nomadic Tribes with the original names so that the persons belonging to these castes could be given benefit of the schemes implemented by the Government. These castes had been demanding to be included in the list of DNTs, Nomadic and Semi-Nomadic Tribes, which was today approved by the Council of Ministers. Before this, there were 24 castes in the State list of DNTs, Nomadic and Semi-Nomadic tribes, which has now increased to 29.
